No. 34  The Israeli Defence Force (IDF) have killed more Palestinians in one day than the entire British losses in Afghanistan
The IDF with their Lockheed Lightning fighters and Apache helicopter gunships killed more Palistinians in one day than the entire British losses in Afghanistan.   Using these weapons of mass destruction inside one's own country constitutes GENOCIDE.   These weapons were supplied to Israel for defence purposes.   Disputes within their territory should be conducted with the use of foot soldiers and tanks, if and when necessary.    None of the Israeli violence would be necessary but for the government's divide and rule policy, putting Fathah against Hamas.   How can any democratic (claimed) government possibly argue that Hamas, elected by the people of Gaza, should be destroyed.   Shortly after the Palestinian elections which voted for Hamas by a large margin, the Israelis arrested several of the elected politicians.   What kind of example does this set for countries like South Africa and Zimbabwe where a so-called democratic government uses these type of draconian measures.   Surely a sophisticated western government like that of Israel should be able to negotiate a settlement of the Palistinian situation without resorting to these strange, bizarre methods of dealing with a people that lived in Palestine, in the very areas that have been developed by the Israelis over the past 50 years, without the slightest regard for the welfare of the displaced Palestinian people.

The borders between Israel and the Gaza strip have been closed over a long period, causing untold suffering to the inhabitants of that part of the world, and then, when the Palestinians make known their plight by sending mortars across the border, the Israeli response is GENOCIDE.    When can we expect some civilised actions by the Israelis instead of this constant divide and rule policy which fools nobody.

It is time that the USA, providing aid on an annual basis to the Israelis and the Egyptians came clean and put down some ground rules for the use of defence weapons inside Israeli territory.  The American tax-payer has been supporting Israel for many years ; would the Americans accept helicopter gunships down their 'High Streets' when the local police wished to control them ?    I think not.    It's time for the US government to set down the rules for the use of Defence Weapons supplied by them (USA) and put forward a requirement for normality in the face of this repeated use of unreasonable force to solve a problem of their own making.

Aid to Israel and Egypt should be on the basis of finding a solution to the Palestinian problem, not a passport to more violence.    Violence breeds violence and if one wishes to divide and rule, then it is plain that things are not going to change in the foreseeable future.   Has the forthcoming incumbent in the White House (Obama) got the will to finally end this sad story, where Palestinians, spread to the four corners of the Middle East in 1948, finally get their own state, and the Israelis use their weapons of mass destruction for defence and not to subdue a long suffering people.  In a modern country like Israel, GENOCIDE is inexcusable.    Is Obama going to do anything about it, or are they going to receive the same amount of AID each year regardless of how the Palestinian situation is progressing ?

Finally, just a reminder about the 96 British personnel that died in the King David Hotel in 1948, blown up by the Israeli terrorists, and the 6 spitfires that were shot out of the sky whilst on a photo-reconnaissance mission (based in Cyprus).     And the USA survey ship that was torpedoed by the Israeli navy in International Waters ( flying the stars and stripes).   Several Americans were killed and many more wounded.   It's time that the Israelis learnt something about peace and goodwill, particularly at this time of the year.

SHALOM

P.S. There was also that little matter of the destruction of Lebanon - whatever happened to the Israeli hostages that were apparently the excuse for the invasion ?   What happened to the UN compound in the south of the country ?   Somebody do something to try and remove the warmongers and promote the jaw-mongers !   Some quarters have intimated that these unnecessary deaths were in order to gain a victory at the 2009 Israeli elections.   It would seem that lives are cheap, particularly Palestinian lives.
