Graham Alexander BELL, born in Edinburgh, patented the telephone in 1876
George Joseph BELL, born in Edinburgh in 1770 became professor of Scots law at Edinburgh University and published several works relating to the Scottish Judiciary.
Henry BELL, born in Linlithgow, Scotland in 1767 was an engineer and pioneer of steam navigation.
Sir Charles BELL, born in Edinburgh 1774 was an anatomist and surgeon, famous for his neurological discoveries and was appointed surgeon to the Middlesex Hospital in 1812
None of these pioneers had anything to do with the BELL GRAPH !

Applying the Bell Graph to human situations such as sexuality we can begin to realise the complexities of peoples lives. We talk about Macho and Butch without any idea of exactly how far these descriptions are accurate. Human beings have a variety of characteristics, some of which are feminine and some masculine. It is this inherited make-up that decides our sexuality and hence the massive differences between individuals. But for this fact we would all be the same, rather like the Clones that Hitler had in mind in the 1930‘s (The Super Race).
It follows, from this analysis that when we talk about Homosexuality we are really suggesting that all Homosexuals are the same, with the same sex drives, and this is just an impossibility. Sexual identity is as varied as IQ. It would appear that some individuals that claim to have come out of the closet have made the assumption that any feelings towards the opposite sex automatically puts them at the extreme end of the self-classification. The question then becomes, whether they have made this declaration in order to be accepted by the Gay community, in order to feel that they belong; a possible cause being loneliness or simply confusion.
It is well known that youngsters learning to cope with their developing bodies after puberty sometimes experiment with those that they feel most at ease with. This can lead to confusion and self-labelling which doesn’t reflect their true sexuality. Shyness during this period can often mean that individuals don’t find the opportunity to mix with the opposite sex and this in itself can lead the individual into a life where they aren’t really happy but, at the same time, because of their indiscretions, feel trapped.
The fairly recent legislation in the House of Commons lowering the age of consent for Homosexuals to 16 cannot be considered good legislation since it reinforces this idea that youngsters should have been able to make up their minds as to their sexuality by this age. The Act totally disregards the fact that individuals develop at different rates and therefore a large percentage of teenagers are still learning about life. By putting youngsters in this situation where the law no longer protects them, the law is actively encouraging Homosexual tendencies. This cannot be right, particularly at this stage in their development.
Because of this wide range of personality types through heredity it follows that every individual that regards him/herself as Gay is at a different point on our Bell Graph and certainly not all at the extremes. It is for this reason alone that we have the so-called Bi-sexuals. They have a personality make-up with female and male tendencies that lead them into Homosexual relationships but, at the same time are fully capable of living their lives with a partner of the opposite sex and raising a family. These individuals are in the same situation as the errant husband or wife that partakes in extra-marital relationships. There is absolutely no reason why these individuals should feel guilty of Homosexual feelings on occasions, nor any reason why they should feel the need to have extra-marital relationships.
Homosexuality is as old as life itself. We have or had many individuals in the entertainment industry that have been fully accepted without any qualms for years. Suddenly it seems, we have to take more notice of Gays and make special arrangements in order that they can tell the whole world about their sexuality. This seems to be a rather strange phenomenon in today’s world where political correctness has been distorted to make special provisions for anyone who happens to be Gay. Certain town councils go out of their way to allow marches, holding up traffic for hours, simply for Gay Movements to hold rallies. As has been mentioned above, Gays in the entertainment industry have been accepted without any question; why is it that we are confronted by individuals that want the entire world to know about their sexuality ? Perhaps persons in high office don’t wish to be thought of as Homophobic and, as a result, are distorting the rules of the norm. All individuals are free to hold meetings and rallies provided that they don’t incite violence or anarchy, but for individuals that wish to inconvenience the rest of society this can only lead to bad feelings amongst the non-homosexual community. For this reason alone it would be far wiser if town councillors were willing to stand up and draw the line between individual freedoms and blatant antagonism by exhibitionists who claim to be leaders of the Gay community.
It is inevitable that some resistance is encountered by the Gay community when they seek positions in jobs or situations where they share changing facilities with non-Gays. With the changing in attitudes for recruitment into the armed services and similar organisations it is quite easy to provide facilities that allow privacy and therefore acceptable by the non-gay community.

In the case of the IQ the Bell Graph would represent the range of intelligence from zero to infinity. The first intelligence tests were devised by Alfred Binet in 1905 and there are now many tests for assessing intellectual ability. The IQ is the product of 100 multiplied by the ratio of mental age (test results) to actual age. The average IQ is 100 and over 95% of the population come between 70 and 130. Those at the top end of the graph are what we know as geniuses, probably 1 in 100,000 !
