    The London Assembly is a scrutinising body with 25 members, elected by Londoners at the same time as the Lord Mayor.    The system is complex and includes representatives of the 14 constituencies (London Boroughs) and Party Lists and Independent candidates to produce a distribution of seats proportional to the total votes cast across London.
